School Preparation (4 - 5 yrs) Objectives
Social and Emotial Development

         
 
 The students will learn and practice to:
  • Understand and follow the daily routine
  • Be able to follow class rules
  • Be able to help in different tasks around the class
  • Work and play well with other children
  • Socialize in a positive and friendly way that allows them to have at least one good friend
  • Be considerate of others
  • Respect other children’s property
  • Play co-operating with other children, involving sharing of resources or ideas with peers
  • Be able to resolve minor disagreements with friends without adult help
  • Recognize different feelings
  • Have more appropriate control over their feelings
  • Verbalize their feelings and desires
  • Initiate conversation with their teachers at least once a day
  • Initiate conversation and activity with other children daily
  • Develop self confidence
  • Be independent and to show initiative
  • Identify problems and try to solve them independently
 
 Hygiene

The students will:

  • Wash their hands and face at appropriate times
  • Brush their teeth independently
  • Use the toilet by themselves including wiping, dressing and flushing
 
 Clothing

The students will be able to:

  • Recognize their clothes
  • Dress and undress by themselves including boots, hats and gloves
  • Open and close zippers, buttons and snaps
  • Tie their shoes independently
  • Return their clothes to their place after use them
 
 Food and Manners

The students will learn and practice to:

  • Say please and thank you
  • Ask for more food in a polite manner
  • Carry their dishes to and from the table
  • Clean up after finishing eating
 
 Relating to others

The students will learn and practice to:

  • Show respect for their classmates and their projects.
  • Share materials and toys with others.
  • Take turns and wait for their turn.
  • Ask permission to use other's things.
  • Behave in a positive way to promote friendship
  • Show sympathy.
  • Cooperate with others while working together
